Both the above answers are right.

If you meant the comic book version of Doomsday.

If you are talking about the animated Justice League Unlimited version of Doomsday then yes. It is revealed that in JLU Doomsday is an imperfect and flawed Superman clone that Cadmus created and programed to hate The Man of Steel.

Comics = No.
Cartoon = Yes.

It wasnt Cadmus. The monster that killed Superman was doomsday and he was created on Krypton by a pair of humanoids not indeginous to the planet itself. They used the planets hostile environment at the time to have a creature that would evolve to withstand the elements of that planet, hence become the ultimate weapon.

Doomsday was artificially created in the distant past on Krypton, long before the humanoid Kryptonian race had gained dominance over the planet; in this time period, Krypton was a violent, hellish world where only the absolute strongest of creatures could survive (at the time, the world's dominant lifeforms were said to be the most dangerous creatures in the universe). Doomsday's creator was a mysterious alien named Bertron, who wished to create the ultimate lifeform. To do so, Bertron and his team sent a baby onto the surface of the planet, where it would be instantly killed by the harsh environment or the vicious creatures inhabiting it. Each time, whatever of the lifeform's remains that survived were harvested and used again, to create a better, stronger version than the previous. In short, the mad scientist was using the method of cloning to accelerate the evolution of the being he was creating. Through decades of this process, the being who would eventually become Doomsday was forced to endure the agony of death, thousands upon thousands of times; the memory of these countless deaths was recorded in his genes and drove it to hate all life. Eventually, Doomsday gained the ability to evolve against what killed him in his prior life without the need of Bertron's technology. At this point he proceeded to hunt down and kill all of the lethal creatures that inhabited Krypton. Bertron himself met his death at the hands of his own creation.

No, Doomsday was originally created on Krypton! When Kryptonian scientists were first working on genetically improving their species, they developed an infant with the ability to evolve rapidly and kept killing it. (I think they got that idea from Kenny on South Park!) They kept on cloning it over and over, unti it developed the ability to recover from being killed and to learn so that it could not be defeated in the same way twice. Then it escaped their test chambers and killed them.

[Presumably, later generations of Kryptonian scientists developed the artificial genetic mutations that would give Kryptonians super powers to be activated in time of war; in lieu of needing to wear the old-fashioned bulky metal ‘battle suits’ of powered armor, such as the relic Superman had in the Fortress, which he wore to walk back on the ocean floor to Metropolis after he recovered from being killed.]

I forget how Doomsday eventually got to Earth, but he recognized Superman as the same species that kept on tormenting him, so that he ha a built-in fear and hatred for Superman.
