Yes, fix it before it leaves you stranded which is usually after you fill up after driving for awhile. These pumps tend to get hot and will stick when cooled down for some reason. Bad design is the most likeliest cause. Sorry to say, but a bad job to replace these and it will be expensive. Good luck.

I've been in automotive work for over 40yrs. You have a bad fuel pump. We use a rubber hammer at times to try and get a pump to operate if it is nonfunctional. Sometimes it will work.

This is a common ansewr to fuel pump problems, it is just a matter of time b4 the pump quits altogether.

i own a repair shop,and it may have a bad ground wire on it,,the tank has a ground wire that connects it to the ground through the wiring harness,when you hit on it,,its probably making it ground,,and there's always the chance the pump is going out in it,,you can have the pump checked at a good repair shop,good luck hope this help,s.
