i have changed coil packs ,full tune up ,tested fuel pressure, exhaust is not plugged, changed fuel filter, replaced all fuel injectors , tranny is fine, # 1 and # 4 spark plugs are sooty #2 and # 3 are fine , does any 1 know what symtoms i would run into with a faulty ignition module
getting it checked at auto zone is not an option as i live in canada and we have no places to get them checked

I live in Canada and I used to diagnose and fix these things all the time so why can't you get help??? First thing to do is to stop replacing parts without diagnosing the problem. If #1 & 4 plugs are sooty, I would say this is an area to be investigated. #1 & 4 are running mates meaning the coil fires the both of them at once every time in what is called waste spark. First off, as it is the main problem of a motor misfire, is to test ALL spark outputs at the spark plug end with a high energy ignition tester or installing a screw driver down the end and holding it close to ground while the motor runs or is being turned over. Spark should be strong, blue colored, and CONSITENT!!! All outputs should be relatively the same. I cannot stress enough of the importance of checking all the outputs and if you are not sure what you witnessed to do it again. These motors had a huge problem with their spark plug wires, so if there is no ouput at the plug wire ends, check the output at the coil tower end. If there is still no spark output, and since you have already replaced the coil, it is a faulty ground circuit inside the ignition module and it will have to be replaced. Be sure you have good plug wires as in my experience these were responsible for 90% of this type of problem. This cannot be a fuel problem. If there is still a misfire and all of this has checked good, look for a vacuum leak either around the intake gasket area or the intake hoses and the like.
