Why do men think they are superior to women?

It has been that way since the dawn of time. If you truly want that answered then you should seek a philosipher for that one. Men think they are superior at just about everything, but they are wrong. If you truly want to know what I think? God made man and woman as equals. Religion is a big part of everyones lives but no one wants to beleive that a creation of human life is to be equal. For instance, in the eastern countries, woman are pretty much considered lower class. Women are married to men that they do not want or love, they are a slave to their history. The men are left to have a comradery together without the woment present. In India, when an arranged marriage is done, the men dance with the men, party with the men, have relations with the men. The women are somewhere not to be seen and are to be kept that way, most of the time. In some Russian cultures, the women are considered more superior because they are the ones that have to take care of the families needs and so are considered the ones who wear the pants. If everyone was equal, then this world would be pretty darn quiet.

Because men are superior to women. Has been that way from the beginning of time. Some women do not believe this. No matter how hard a women tries to be superior, they are not.

first of all, not all men think this. I am a man and I believe that men and women are equal. in fact, if anything, I believe women are superior to men. afterall, it's the men who cause most of the violence and pain and war in this world, not the women. the women are smarter than that.

second of all, the reason why (unfortuantely) many men DO think this is because it has been engrained in their culture for many hundreds of years

I know, they say the Bible does, it actually does not. Take the case of Adam and Eve. She was made from a Rib to be from his SIDE to be BESIDE HIM, not below him or above him. So, she was called a helpmate. As far as wives, THIS IS ONLY IN RELATION as Christ is husband to the Church. Christ is considered Husband to the Church. God is considered Head of Christ, Christ over the Church, Men over women, etc. This is to show the ANGELS that there is a heirarchy and a place for everything. SO, IF CHRIST TRULY LOVES HIS CHURCH, he would never abuse it, mistreat it, cheat on it, speak bad to or against it, AND NEITHER SHOULD A MAN AGAINST HIS WIFE. He should treat her exactly as Christ does his Church!!! With love, affection, wanting ONLY what is best for her (and thus, HIM), etc. There is nothing UGLY in how Christ loves his church and nor should there be in a loving marriage.

So, as we see, we are all equal to God. In fact, with 80% of the 1st Century Christians being female, the Bible talks of some female Deaconess' and others in the Preaching work.

As a man, I center on this fact, with all due respect.
Think of most of the human activities and try to select the best human performer of each. Or the most succesfull.
Painters: Leonardo da Vinci, Boticello, Michealangelo, etc.
Composers: Bach, Mozart, Vivaldi, etc.
Singers: Pavarotti, Carusso, Sinatra, Michael Jackson
Same with athletes, medics, architects, lawyers, carpenters, movie directors, computers, engineers, biologists, photographers, and even cooks, chefs, tailors and interior designers!!!

As a guy I find women pretty impressive. In an ultra marathon of 100 or more miles there was a woman who kept winning until last year when she lost to a guy. In high school, girls are graduating more because the macho thinking of guys don't make studying cool.

it wasn't the bible, it was culture. and guess what? most parts of culture were created by men! it is a circle of sexism.

culture has been very anti-female since the beginning of time (be it creationism or evolution). history books are extremely inaccurate about female greats as well as native americans, aboriginal people, and people of different races. so we KNOW we can't trust them with our past.

as for Juan Filepe, the only reason why common culture does not promote female greats is because that is what it has been doing for so long now. it has NEVER shown women in as bright a light. and btw, michael jackson was a pedifile, so do you REALLY want him to represent male "greatness"?

I don't think i am, unless I'm obviously better than she is.
It all depends on the situation, most men are stronger than women when it comes to physical strength.
Who's best at the job, that's who i would hire!
