Heard him the other day, not my favorite artist, but the song was pretty heavy for him, and had a lot of guitar.

Todd had a few heavy songs back in the '70's with his band Utopia - before he went in a more pop-oriented direction with the band and his solo career. (Why?)

"Todd Rundgren's Utopia" (1974) and "Ra" (1977) were both guitar oriented Utopia albums with some decent heaviness ("Utopia Theme", "The Ikon", "Hiroshima", "Jealousy", "Sunburst Finish", Mountaintop and Sunrise/Communion With The Sun", "Singring And The Glass Guitar").

"Oops.. Wrong Planet" (1977) and "Adventures In Utopia" (1980), both had a few fairly heavy moments among their mostly popish content.

His solo album "Initiation" also had couple fairly heavy tunes.
