Please help!?
I recently bought a new haircare product (CHI Silk Infusion) The product had a leak in the bottle and leaked all over my linolium floor and stained it so I thought I used everything imaginable to try to lift it up and it didn't come off it's like a neon yellow stain a really big spot so I am assuming it is a chemical reaction. I called the company of the product and they said that there isn't any harsh chemicals in the product therefore it should not stain. Well it did I said and the woman told me to try bleach or oxy clean. I did that. Didn't work. In this situation what do I do next? Should I call the company back and try and get them to fix it or is this my fault. Do I call the linolium company??? Should they be liable the floor is only 2 years old. Please Help!

I really believe it is a chemical reaction there is not any color that is being lifted from this huge spot. I used bleach, nail polish remover, oxyclean, some heavy duty stain removers, vinager, landry detergent(dry). Fantastik you name it. That is why I am wondering if the company is liable for this. It doesn't mention any where on this product that it stains things.

Call the company where you got the floor from. You could try clorox or 409

With all the things you have tried it is surprising the stain did not come out.

Something that bills itself as silk infusion may have a few proteins that stain in it. Silk is a protein if I remember correctly. Linoleum, if new, resists staining but over just a year or two it would become porous making staining more likely. Protein stains can sometimes be removed with enzyme cleaners. It might be worth a try to get one of the cleaners that removes pet stains and odors. Those work on proteins and it might work on this difficult problem. Most of them have to sit on the stain for quite a while to work. (Oxyclean does too and it works better with hot water.)

It might be last ditch effort but give it a try. Most of your other cleaners will have damaged the finish of the linoleum. You might see if there were any scraps of linoleum left in the back of a closet or garage. Sometimes it is easier to do a repair (replace the damaged portion) than to remove a stubborn stain.

Sorry about your floor. I have linoleum that a renter melted with a space heater...I can't clean it and can't find identical flooring to replace it. I'll have to do the whole floor. Good Luck.

Okay first you need to calm yourself.
Next keep the stain moist and call a professional floor cleaner and tell them what happened.
The hair color company isn't liable because the stain was from a broken bottle and unless your lino is stain resistant the company that made that won't have any answers either..
I have a hair color stain on my bath room floor luckily its not in a spot people notice but I haven't found anything to take it out yet :-\

Try some stuff called awsome it works on everything. Let it sit there for like five minutes and try to wipe it clean. If not call the company because if the product has a leak they are at fault. Tell them that because of the leak u now have stained tile and if they deny it show them pictures.

Open the windows and turn on a fan, then go get some acetone from a home improvement outlet and start cleaning. Acetone is an ingredient in most dyes (hair included) and will work. Don't breathe the fumes for too long, they can be deadly.

Get Legal advice from an attorney.

If an attorney contacts that company, they WILL act.

Best of luck to you!

Well... you could always pile dead cats next to the stain so people will notice the cats isntead of your stain

"hey nice house, OH MY GOD"
(i hope they dident notice the stain)
"WHY is there a pile of dead cats in here!?"
problemd solved
your welcome
