I totally have hic ups right now, and have been drinking. Why is it that I have hick ups while drinking? And just why do you get them in general

Spasms of the diaphragm. Nobody knows for sure why it does this it is basically just like when the nerves short circuit and it's kind of like a mini-mini-seizure. Water doesn't really help because it doesn't have anything to do with your respiratory system. Hold your breathe (completely) and swallow 5 seconds. Then you can breathe again. That usually works because it causes your diaphragm to stop all together for a little while and usually undoes the short circuit.

that's a spasm of the diaphragm. you need to be able to eliminate them by using elevating your hands above your head and stretching for a lengthy time period. yet, it would not always artwork. I HATE hiccups. they are undesirable.

an irregular breathing pattern wich cause you chest to contract...thus causing you to hic up...which is why they tell you to hold your breath to expand it

its caused by the diaphram contracting. ive also heard that you get them when you swallow air

i heard it could be caused by lack of oxygen to your brain
