The situations are about much more than stress -
An accident may have mutilated bodies but I could respond to do what I could, also knowing I would throw up later.
A fight between 2 guys however, is outside of my physical response capabilities so dialing 911 would be the appropriate response, not getting in the middle.
Ultimately, situations are about having some idea or knowledge that allows you to respond.
Stress would be encountering something where I had no knowledge to draw from , just pure instinct or intuition.
