I would say the official Sim's 2 website! www.thesims2.ea.com
I have tried modthesims2 and though there are some amazing creators on there I often find it says "Mesh can be found here" then you go on the link and there's like three things to download and which ever one I pick seems to be wrong!
The Sim's website stuff always works for me, what I usually do Is go on exchange then Sim's then type MESH in the keyword bar then in the details you will find Sim's that say MESH FREE OR NO MESH these will always work and I've had lotsa luck on that site! you can also get objects there but sadly this is limited there isn't many at the mo.
I trust this site tho and recommend to all.
