It seems no one is willing to answer my question. I know there are several intelligent Republican & Conservative posters out there, so I would appreciate your input.

Ive seen many of you insist you don't care what our allies/former allies think about our foreign policy.

My question is is it feasible for Americans to fight a war on "terror" when none of our allies or former allies will contribute to the war effort?

Doesn't ostracizing other countries leave us at a severe disadvantage when it comes to World Wars or Global efforts, seeing as we'll be forced to bear the brunt of the loss of life & monetary cost? How long do you feel Americans will allow their country to fall deeper and deeper into debt, & allow their troops to die w/ no assistance?

Reps believe strongly in the "War on Terror" but don't give a moments hesitation to how our foriegn policy has put us at a severe disadvantage in fighting it. Can we really "go it alone" against "terrorism" and still succeed?

Are you really looking for an answer, or are you trying to prove a point?

You are asking a more basic question than you realize, and that's whether or not the U.S. should approach situations as an isolated country with it's own interests in mind, or if it should approach situations as a country with global interests in mind. And that question has never been answered in American politics.

I'm a liberal, and I don't believe in the "war" on terror, but I do believe that every single living being who wants terrorism to stop needs to act on it. I also believe that to end terrorism, one has to truly understand why it happens, and no U.S. politician wants to get into the mind of a terrorist for fear of being accused of sympathizing with cold-blooded killers.

I personally believe that we have a long way to go before we can balance our own needs with those of the rest of the world's, but if we are to take part in international conflicts, we'd better learn how to act as an international entity.

You've got to stand up for what you believe. The rest of the world doesn't have the stomach to actually fight a war on terror. They would rather appease them and talk incessantly about it. They have a fit over us actually taking the fight to the enemy because they fear reprisals in their own countries. They also fear an American empire. Not an empire of actual real estate, but an empire of influence. Right now, nobody in the world is capable of operating on a global scale, except us. Ostracizing our allies is a mistake. I think we should patronize them instead. Except for Britain, they have been as useful as a screen door on a submarine in the war on terror. These islamist have stated their desire to destroy the "western" way of life. That's not just America. Europe is nearly as free and "decadent" in their lifestyle as we are. They are more liberated in some areas (ie. nudity). That alone is abhorrent to an islamic fundamentalist. If the islamist can succeed in destroying the American way of life, Europe is next. They don't see it as their problem yet. If a dirty bomb (radiological) goes off in Paris, you'll see the French get on board with the war on terror.
Going it alone does put us at a disadvantage, but I'd rather go forward at a disadvantage than sit by and do nothing like our so-called allies seem to content to do.

If the war on terror is truly a war on radical religion of any sect then we need to 1st acknowledge ALL religions & their similarities. All religions are acknowledging there is a power greater than the human race. Many of the religions have their equivalent to the 10 Commandments. 30% has to do with mans relationship to his God, while 70% has to do with his relationship with his fellow man.

It is rather funny that when any group goes extreme they forget this simple relationship. Thru out history at least Christian history differents sects have felt that only their sect was going to heaven. All other sects were some form of hearacy & would be excluded. The extremist are in effect saying "I" love you so much I'm willing to kill us both to convert you so that I will see you on the other side. This is bazzar (s)he will not take the time to get to know me here & now. Trufully it is a small few powerful individuals having a tempertantrum & manipulating others to do the dirty work.

Too bad we (All of the manipulated can't wise up) don't just spank the leader.

Well for one thing we've had great successes in the GWOT--there hasn't been another 9-11 type attack since then so something is working.
Second there has been help from some of our allies. Paid in blood--mostly just a token force much like the American forces there.
Other countries aren't being ostracized--they've been asked to help and have refused due to most of them having large Muslim populations. 'Don't rock the boat when you're sitting in it'

OK, let's look at it this way. Almost every one of our 'allies' have fallen victim to terrorists within the last 4 years. With the exception of England, every one of our allies has bowed to fear, and given the terrorist what they wanted.

Spain was with us...then they got bombed...then they ran...just what the terrorists wanted

France...well, they have blocked all attempts to foil terror groups while still doing business with them. Most military hardware owned by terror states is made and sold by France. Not to mention that during the first Gulf War, France wouldn't allow the US or our other coalition partners use French airspace.

Germany, kept up ties with Iraq, Iran, and North Korea, even though the US wanted to sanction them. Germany stands in the way.

Most of our so called allies have thwarted all of our efforts to route out terror groups. So why should we give a damn what they think. But not to worry, they still need us to survive and thrive. Without the stregnth of America and our economy, they will lose most of their ability to trade abroad.

And just a side note...the countries that have bowed to the terrorists...Like Spain did....well, the terrorists have hit them again. Just last week ETA, an extremist group, blew up 1/2 of Spains major airport.

So much for the premise that leaving terrorists alone will keep you safe.

I hope I have shed a little light on your question. I'm ready for the thumbs down...but I havent said a single thing that is untrue.

we are not fighting the war on terror alone...and of course it is not feasible to do so...though it is possible...we are the ones carrying the brunt of military personnel...but there or some other countries with a military presence...there is NATO in Afghanistan...but for the most part the intelligence community is in full cooperation with each other on the war on terror...the thing in Iraq will not last forever...when that is finished the shape of the war on terror will be different...as for our debt...it is not that big of a deal...the world needs America to keep growing more than it does for us to decline...we are powering the world economy...it like the airlines...the are always in debt...but it is something that is needed so it can't go out of business so the government steps in to help out...

Law enforcement from all over the world is participating in the War on Terror. I've lost count of how many countries have arrested and convicted al-Queda and other terrorists. Just because other countries don't commit troops to Iraq or wherever doesn't mean they're not helping.

I am always glad to answer questions.

Yes it is feasible to fight a war on terror without our traditional allies. It is harder because we need man power. In our current situation, we do not have that problem. There are a lot of countries who are helping us out and it is secret. What we cannot have is countries like Russia who continue to sell weapons to Iran. Those countries who undermine us must be dealt with.

The thing is France, Germany, etc have no interest in helping us. Nothing we can do will change that.

The US must fight this war no matter what the circumstances. The terrorists will fight to the death: ours or theirs. We have to play the hand we are dealt, no matter how much we do not.

The U.S. has been able to accomplish many things that other countries haven't. (An old example, getting to the moon.) When we see something that actually needs to be done, it would be foolish to wait for the rest of the world to get up to speed. How much of the rest of the world would you want us to wait for? In medical research? In technological advancements? U.S. citizens come from many ethnic groups. In that sense, we don't do anything "alone," but through the strength brought to us by people who've come here and enjoy the freedom and prosperity.

no success i've seen in every war US created.. but a lot of delay i've seen.. US just seek for revenge.. plunder everything on their way.. i see other country use a different kind of war.. not by guns but by brain.. they don't have to send 3000 troops to their death.. they didn't have to spend 13 billion or something for nothing..

i think other country are more intelligent than stupid USA..
