I heard someone say, "Having a child is like handing the child a death sentence." The "theory" is that when a man and woman have a child, they give that child life and ultimately death. Therefore, the parents are responsible for the child's death. Do you agree or disagree? Thoughts?

I have never thought of it that way, but death is part of life, so I guess you are right. I have a personal note to share about that. I was pregnant with my 2nd daughter when 911 happened, even though I do not live in NY and no one I know directly was killed or hurt in the tragedy, I remember feeling an overwhelming sense of doom. I was bringing another child into such a cruel, cruel world and I felt so ashamed of that.

I think that you are right but that is also part of every-ones life. In order to live you have to die.

What a load of rubbish. Parents give their children life. You cant have one without the other so life obviously comes with an eventual death. But the parents are not responsible for the death. Many parents die before their children so cannot possibly be responsible, so to say parents are responsible for children who do die before them would be ridiculus.

maybe its more that the world is so dangerous now.Its not a good time to have children .The war in Iraq is ruining the ozone.Among other things to have children now is foolish and selfish however thats no excuse for abortion which is murder. If a child is born there is probly a reason but as a mother whos child was the victim of a crime its just really a dangerous world. He lived but he is very cynical.

Thats the stupidest thing I ever heard. Going by your theory, if every person decided not to "kill" their children by never having any, the population would die out and there would be no more humans.

Wow. That is just so f-ed up.

I disagree. As a parent I have the responsibility to raise my children and teach them right from wrong and to prepair them for when they become adults.
