I need to write a story based on a metaphor that goes like this; "Life is a car in motion. what is in your rear view mirror is not nearly as important as what is in front of you." The story has to show the metaphor instead of directly saying it in the story. Thank you!

this is a personal narrative-write a story about someone who learned a life lesson from something that happened and they chose a different "road" than what they were currently going.

Ok, in my opinion, the metaphor stands living in the present, aiming forward, and leaving the past behind. You could have a protagonist who somehow learns how to do this.
