If they hadn't committed to the 3rd one before they shot the 2nd one, and shot it before the 2nd one was released, I doubt it would have been made either. So I would guess not.
But who really knows?
I thought it was a terrible idea but
Rocky 6 actually is drawing critical acclaim and good audiences
and now
Rambo 4 is going to be shot
so who knows?
We might even see Star Wars 7, 8, and 9 even though Lucas has said never, never, never. Even if it is in his will to never do them, I figure some studio exec could figure a way around that too.
What's next Sigorney Weaver (looking more like Tyne Daly than herself) in Alien 5?????????

Hopefully not! The first movie was awesome, I saw it the day it came out. I thought the sequels were progressively worse. Perhaps there will be another animation or video game or something but I don't believe any plans are in the works for yet another Matrix movie.

The makers of MxO, the MMORPG suggest that the closest you will ever get a fourth Matrix movie is their game.
While no Fourth Matrix movie is currently being made, there is no reason to imagine that some producer wouldn't make a new one. Like them or no, all three made money.

No, but if you're looking for something similar (and I thought it was much better) check out Equilibrium. The gun kata is so amazing in this movie and the acting is wonderful.
