Without going into detail, Schottenheimer is AWFUL in the playoffs and has already lead to great teams (Browns in the 1980s and Chiefs 1990s) to heartbreaking playoff demise. What if they lose to a better coached Patriots team?

i can't stand people who's teams lose one game and they are calling for the back up qb, or a different coach, seems like everyone wants to pick a scapegoat and run with it, before you analyze whether shottenheimer should get fired why don't you consider that he took a team with a rookie qb and has them in first place in the AFC, seriously, wait til the F-ing game before you wanna "boot" him

I had a bad feeling that the Pats would come in and win this game. The Chargers had several opportunities to win, but showed an alarming lack of discipline (dropped balls, bonehead penalty) for an alleged championship contender. With that being said, I don't think he should "get the boot" because of this loss. There is a great amount of talent on that team and Marty seems to know how to get the best out of them (unfortunately not today). But after hearing about his "icy relationship" with current ownership his status might be questionable. I would like to see Marty back next year with LT, Rivers, and crew.

I hate to assert it, yet convinced. he's only too set in his methods. At this factor is only a be sure head. He does no longer placed on a headset. How does he provide enter? As a head coach you won't be able to do this. i grow to be blown away that they lost an same way they lost the Jets pastime in 2004. I undergo in concepts even as he had the large style a million seed in KC and made an same blunders. He only won't be able to enable bypass of Marty Ball. It grow to be obvious they made no 1/2 time modifications in the course of the game. i'm no longer a pro NFL participant. I did play in college and that i even recognize that the matchups were no longer operating. He had a pastime plan that he only refused to modify for. The Patriots were able to demonstrate the weak spot with the blitz and the corners were getting uncovered. the midsection of the field grow to be huge open and that confirmed the Patriots the position to bypass. Why on earth when you intercept the ball attempt to run with it once you're secure? stupid consequences, the communities thoughts were too severe and Marty because the coach did not ring them in and regain their concentration. there grow to be unfavorable clock administration in the 4th quarter. ultimately it falls on the coach. Marty did not do sufficient to enable his team win. by using no longer kicking the field objective. He did not provide the Chargers a probability to win. With 14-2 record and residential field earnings prepared. that's inexcusable. on the least he must have gained that pastime. i trust if he a minimum of gained that pastime people and administration would have forgiven him. As a Charger fan i will under no circumstances forgive him for that absolute crap of a pastime plan. the guy desires to bypass and he desires to retire and stay retired. i'm enthusiastic about giving Cam a shot. I only wish he does no longer teach to be like the St. Louis Rams experienced with Mike Martz. large coordinator yet no longer a good head coach. Norv Turner an same way. you only under no circumstances recognize? i imagine the Chargers must be ill to imagine of each of the what it truly is. the base line is Marty grow to be out coached on each factor. understanding the Spanos relatives they gained't fireplace him. he will step down after a million more suitable year and could in all probability retire or bypass into television or Radio. Cam or per chance Cowher may be the subsequent Chargers coach in 08.

Schottenheimer will not get the boot because they will not lose. He's not that much of a conservitave coach anymore and has trust in Philip Rivers. True, I think the Pats are coached better, but the Bolts have way too many talented weapons on both sides of the field.

GO BOLTS!

who knows? maybe or maybe not. the chargers may give him another year to see how he goes. cuz he does great in the regular season with the teams. but then he just breaks down and has bad calls when it comes to the playoffs. just see what philip rivers can do for him?maybe philip rivers can establish a name for himself by winning this game? if he does lose this game then he probably should look into a different profession. cuz he does not have any finesse (vocab for english this week!) in him for football

I doubt that the Chargers are going to get smoked. Marty knows about his previous playoff history and is out to change it. We have homefield advantage, the better players, the better record, etc. It will be a close game but we will win it.

Football is a game of match ups , and intensity, coachs
manipulate them and try to exploit them. New England does
not match up well with San Diego this year Brady or no
Brady and playing in San Diego . No way will they beat
San Diego.
