Could be either one. The uterus begins enlarging right away with pregnancy, and honestly the feeling is the same as premenstrual cramps. The way you'll know for sure is if you miss your period.

It can be cramping or maybe your feeling your ovaries because of you starting your period. It also could be a urinay infection I know because I get those all of the time. I have been to the doctor I don't know how many times with abdominal pains they even did a sonogram on the inside and out to see what it could be and they all came back fine so sometimes you wonder do they even know what they are talking about.

Since you're concerned about being pregnant, I assume you are having unprotected sex. Cramping could mean many things including a disease. You should see a doctor and then a therapist to make you understand that if you (wonder) if you're pregnant, you probably should use every bit of protection to keep from bringing an innocent child into your life.

If you are pregnant then you shouldn't have pains because it would mean that you could be miscarrying. But it would definitely be a sign of cramping.

the pains in your ab wont start until you are nearing your second trimester--you get them because baby is getting bigger and 'stretching' you out.
if you have pains now and are unsure if you are pregnant or not- it's probably just a sign that your period is on its way.
