Who's "they"? Wiccans read this section too. Oh, the evil "xtians", of course! I guess your trying to get a rise out of them, huh? So...when you can't get "persecution", you have to invent it?

I read it. It's silly. It's sort of like a parody of the story of Jesus...not a whole lot unlike things Satanists do.

Wiccans sure obsess a lot over Jesus.

Oh, and Anya, Wicca dates to back the 1950's.
It's not older than Christianity.

Sorry--I didn't see anything about the story of Jesus in the link provided. Did it have anything to do with the idea of Jesus as a high priest of Egyptian mysteries? I've heard that one before.

As for how mad "they" would be about Wiccan questions--there are a lot of Wiccan questions asked in the Religion category. Some people get ruffled about it and others are open-minded, just like in the Mythology category. Per the business about how old Wicca is -- modern Wicca, especially Gardnerian, was created in the '50's, but it incorporates elements of pre-Christian paganism, so it just depends on which angle you want to focus upon. To say it's *only* as old as the 50's is kind of like saying Protestant Christianity is *only* as old as the 1400's--since it was Catholicism before then :-) That ignores the fact that threads of what would become Protestantism are woven throughout the earlier Catholicism.

Wicca is a religion. It is older than Christianity.
