Okay. Today I had a crappy day. My math text book got stolen. Now I owe 60 bucks. I have better stuff to spend that 60 bucks on. And on top of all that, everyone hates my haircut. Just to make me feel a bit better, tell me about something worse that has happend to you.

Chill,
Not to make you feel better, but to assure you adversity does not play favorites. In the space of a couple months;
Forced to leave a 40yr. relationship, slipped on icey driveway, in the dark of night to break a leg and fracture an ankle, 18yr. old pet died and I had to assist him in that, had eye surgery and continue to be plagued by insomnia. There is more. It comes with the territory. Life teaches.

Wow. That really sucks. Let's see...something worse that's happened to me...

Well, nothing too bad has happened to me today, but there was this time my wallet went missing. It had everything in it, my ID, my debit card, my social security card, my insurance card, my voter card, my blood donor card--basically my whole life on paper. I ransacked my whole house looking for it, but still, nothing. My mother even came over to help me look and she was furious at me. The insurance card and social security card were going to be a real pain to replace (the insurance company, when issuing me the card in the first place, told me never to lose it because they weren't going to replace it. Ever!) and we were screaming at each other. I called up the bank, cancelled my card and ordered a new one and then I had a thought. A couple of weeks earlier, I'd been out shopping with my dad but didn't have any pockets, so I kept my wallet in my hand. Unfortunately, I cut my finger, so I had to give myself some first aid and I put my wallet in my dad's glove compartment for safe keeping! I ran out to my dad's car and voila! (It took them three days to mail my new debit card to me and I had to go home and face a ransacked house.) So that was a pretty bad day as far as losing something goes...

As for bad haircuts, well...when I was 10 years old, my mother took me to one of those stylist schools to get me a perm. I had very thick long hair (my hair was about 3 feet long at the time) so perms never held more than two hours. Sure enough, the perm came out and my hair was just as straight as ever...on the long part. The hair on the top of my head remained tightly curled and I looked like a poodle! The kids at school were merciless and I tried attending with a paper bag over my head. (But then my mother threw it away, along with every other paper bag in the house...)

I didn't have a math book or 60 bucks to lose and I don't have any hair to cut.

Well, today during my calculus exam, this guy's coffee spilled all over my jeans while I was in the middle of a conversation. Everyone blamed it on me, but the girl sitting in front of him knocked it over.

I had a long time client and friend die this morning. I've been a wreck all day. Your loss is trivial compared to a life.

My son peed all over me as I was changing him, and he screamed the whole time.

It's the best I've got.
