I think better when I'm listening to classical music, I'm not sure if any studies have been done.

I guess it depends on who you are and how you respond to music. Personally, I learn better with fewer distractions - and music tends to be a distraction, no matter what kind of music it is. Maybe it's because I love music so much that I get into it instead of what I am trying to concentrate on. And "busier" music is more distracting even yet.

Some people can have music going in the background all the time and concentrate better. Maybe it has something to do with whether you are a "musical" person or not. I am very musical.

I say try the experiment yourself. Get several styles of music and try studying to it and then try studying without. You may be surprised at the results.

Classical music helps me learn better. It relaxes my mind so that I can learn new things. Whenever I study for a test, I always listen to classical music, and I always do good on my tests! I've listened to other types of music as well while I'm studying, but they don't relax my mind like classical music does.

Current research has embarked on what is called Brainwave Entertainment. It is much like "New Age" music. It is said to be able to induice deep relaxation, increased intuition, awareness, enhanced creativity, ACCELERATED LEARNING, elimination of insomnia and the symptoms of stress, and increase endorphin levels.
Go to Live 365.com and pick a station that is listed under the genre "Healing" to get an idea of what it sounds like.

I've read and heard from multiple sources that this is true. However, it is my understanding that the classical music that proved to increase test scores is limited to only that of Mozart.
