I'm not sure how long pot stays in your system but I do know that smoking pot does kill brain cells. On the brighter side, you would have to smoke a lot to do any real damage. It has been proven that we only use up 10% of our brain in a lifetime. Smoking pot would kill brain cells but as to how many cells and as to how long it would take to make you a complete idiot i'm not sure. Don't take this the wrong way but after the first puff of pot you are well on your way to being that idiot. Why would you smoke pot knowing it could damage your body? Why would you smoke pot knowing you could harm yourself and those around you? Why would you smoke pot when the end result of that could possibly end the life of an innocent person as you drove around high as a kite? I'm really not sure how much medicinal good it does for those who have a prescription to smoke it. We have come a long way or the last century and we have been able to make a lot of knowledge known to many people. We have put a man on the moon, we have reduced a computer that was the size of a truck down to the size of a book (laptop), we have proven beyond the shadow of a doubt that tobacco can and does cause cancer, we have even found a way for people with aids to live much longer and be much happier, ..... but we have not been able to stop a teenager from growing, selling and smoking pot, as well as many other recreational drugs. Just say NO doesn't help. WWJD doesn't help. People testifying daily of how drugs have absolutely riuned their lives doesn't help. So you tell me ... what will it take to get kids to quit using drugs? I really want an honest and informative answer. STOP, THINK, DON'T USE DRUGS! PLEASE!

The THC in pot can stay in you cells for up to 6 months. Longer if the hair follicles are checked. And to that last question, yes your brain cells actually die just as they do with alcohol.

It depends on how much you smoke as to how long it stays in your system. If you have a concern about drug testing, hope that they do urine testing and not hair. Unless you have short hair and cut it a lot.

One joint could be cleared out (of urine testing) in a couple months. But if you are a habitual, frequent smoker, it could take a year or more of being off it because of the tar buildup in your lungs.

Drinking and smoking cigs can kill a few extra brain cells. Pot probably does not kill any more than those things.

Count on 30-40 days for pot to stay in your system. Longer than meth,booze or meds. And no-no brain cells die.
You can become stupid over a period of time from massive use,though.
It tends to cut the top off the learning curve.

Yes, duh. Doing any kind of drug will probably kill more brain cells in a couple shots than hitting your head constantly the whole day. Remember, they don't come back.
