I have been sleeping with the same guy for about 3/4 months now and have always used protection and i was on the pill. The doctor then took me off it for 3 months, the last 3 times we have been together we have had no protection at all. I got my period today and its not due for another 2 weeks!! I don't know how i could have been so stupid. Please please please help me. What do you girls think "miscarrage" or should i take a test now or in 2 weeks? You guys are great thanks for everyones help!

First of all, please use protection in future! :) I know people have already said it a hundred times, but you have to know, right?

Secondly, unless you have spotting and very very painful cramps, I doubt it's a miscarriage (At least, with process of elimination it doesn't sound like one).
When coming off of the pill, it's not uncommon to start your period within a few days of stopping. Because of the way the pill makes your body think it's mimicking pregnancy, as soon as you stop, your body thinks it's back to the norm where you can child-bear once again, hence the periods.

If not that, it's also not uncommon for one to start their period because they're under a lot of stress. Anything psychological can affect the regulation of your period. Perhaps the thought of unprotected sex has been troubling you.

Anyway, if it really worries you, please go and see your GP. Best of luck in future. :)

why did the dr take you off the pill. didnt he/she ask about wether you were having regular sex or not!? thats not right. the reason that you came on your period was probably because your body was off the pill. it happened to me, i forgot to take the pill for a few days (silly me!) but i came on 2 weeks before i was due and now ive been on for 4 weeks. hopefully this wont happen to you, i doubt it will, but if your concerned call the NHS number they could advise you. hope everything is ok. take care X

Well if you got your period you shouldn't be pregnant. And it can take your cycle some time to settle down after coming off the pill. Your hormones need to readjust...So common to have irregular periods. But do a test if it's bothering you. they make early detection tests now.

Could be a miscariage but i think it most likely to be a period. best to get checked out by your GP, and take a pregnancy test just to be sure.

Get yourself some contraception as well....unless you want a child of course

Hi im just guesing but i know from experiance when you come off the pill it takes a few months for your body to settle down and have regular periods again so i think its likely to be that, please get yourself checked out tho if you think its anything more sinister.
