No, I think that's a bit too difficult. That would mean finding a way to get a better record than either the Suns (so they win their division) or the Spurs (who will finish bellow Dallas but still have a steller record, and so will take one of the top 4 spots). The Lakers have the potential to end up better than the Jazz, provided the Jazz start to level off like everyone is expecting (though it never seems to happen...), but that wouldn't make a difference, because they are not in the same conference. L.A. should get 5th and face the Jazz in the first round provided
A) that they can keep playing good ball despite all the injuries (So far ok, but just treading water. They aren't playing well enough to hold other teams off really)
B) Denver's Iverson/'Melo experiment doesn't quite gel and they don't suddenly get very good (Who knows?)
C) T-Mac's latest back twinge slows him down again. (If it doesn't and he keeps playing the way he has been, look out West.)
This is tough to call.
Personally I'd say LA can get 5th, because I believe in the Zenmeister a lot more than I believe in Tracy's back or Iverson's abitlity to mesh.
What I can say with certainty is that LA can't overtake Phoenix or San Antonio. So no 4th in laketown this year.

Hopefully the can, they just have to hold it up until Odom comes back. But the way they're playing right now with 2 straight losses isn't going to help. They better get a win tomorrow against the Magic.

Nope coz the first three seeds go to the division champs and there is no way Phoenix will have a worse record than the Lakers
They won't have a better record than San Antonio either. They will be in the thick of it but it don't matter coz the Mavs win it all

No. I'm a Laker fan, but San Antonio, Dallas, Phoenix, and Utah have more talent than the Lakers. Maybe next year with the right moves, but the highest I see them is where they are at #5. :(

They are going too need additional help. Their first 5 are good, but when these guys sit for 3 to 4 minutes, they need people from the bench to not give up the lead or keep it close until they return.

Theyre a good team, but the West is too stacked. if the team was on the east coast, then i would say yes.
