Ok, I'm really getting fed up at the moment.. I just can't put eyeliner.. My eyes keep moving & they won't keep still. If yousay "then practice" then that won't help because I've tried so many times this year, last year & the year before, and I still can't get it right. :(

ok 1st if u are using liquid get a pencil or the roll up kind 2nd it helps if u use ur finger to pull ur lower lid down, and then its easier to go right on the crese, it isnt the right way but if you are desperate it works just fine.

I like to apply my eyeline with a slanted brush. I wet it and then dip it in the darkest shadow shade I am using on my eye. Or a dark brown if I am only using one color. Keep the eye I am working on closed and apply the color right on top of your lashes so that it is not to harsh. You can also do this with a pencil or liquid. Afterward go back over the pencil with the same shadow to have it blend in and not look to harsh. there will still be a definite line there. I always use brushes not the applicators that come with some makeup.

Good luck. This is the best technique I have found for myself and for appyling to others.

you didn't mention how you attempt it, so here's my advice.
we'll assume you're right handed. starting with the left eye, hold your liner with one hand, and pull the skin of your eyes tight with the other. this means for a weird asian look for the upper lid, and a weird look for the bottom lid. this holds the skin straigth while you add liner.
another tip: experiment with different types of liners. some people can't use liquid, and some can't use pencils. i started out without being able to use pencils, now i can't use liquids, lol.
Good luck!

Have you tried pulling on your skin at the area under the brow bone, to keep it tight as you try to apply the liner?

I also find it easier to go from left to right on both eyes, contrary to what people recommend. Try different ways. There is no right way, whatever way works for you is the right way.

You need to close your eye and then hold the eye down (in the corner - pulling it gently to create slant eyes) and then draw the line across.
Hope this helps.
