I've had goldfish for a long time. It's funny. They're as picky as humans when it comes to food. I've had some goldies chomp down on certain foods like they were candy, yet the goldie right next to it turns its nose up at it. As long as they're trying to eat, they aren't sick. When they're sick, they won't even try to eat. Just keep trying different foods until you find one they like. If you just bought them, it also could mean that they're just not hungry because they were already fed today, or they're still stressed from the move. Give a fish up to a week to get into an eating habit before you start to worry. One other thing, if you're feeding them pellets, soften the pellets first. This way they won't swell up in their stomachs. Sometimes if they eat too many pellets, after the pellets swell, their stomach can burst.

they are probably making it go to the floor of the tank and eat it late,or either you are trying them the wrong type for your goldfish my goldfish eats any thing I put in the tank and they really love this kind Wardley essentials TROPICAL fish flakes with all natural color enhancers Avec Enhancurs NaturelDeCouleur maybe you should try yours on this type of goldfish food and see how they will like it. Good Luck! with your fish. I buy it at wal- mart in the pets department it's in a light blue can with a angle fish I think on the can.

It is normal... when they become hungry they will start eating. The reason they're spitting out the food is because it taste different the food that the pet store use. They will be fine just wait until tomorrow and try feeding them again.

If you are feeding them pellets then they are trying to soften it. It flakes (which are not reccomended for goldfish because they swallow too much air when feeding on flakes) then they probably have not aquired a taste for it. Just as a tip never feed a fish you have JUST purchased, allow it about 12 -24 hours to get acclimated to its new enviroment, as it can lead to constipation a death.

what are you feeding them? mine do that when i feed them fresh greens because its how they chew when they have to teeth -- they kind of take it in and suck on it and spit it out. perhaps you just need smaller food. big goldfish food doesn't work for little goldfish.

You could be feeding them too much. If they start swimming sideways you are definitely feeding them way too much.
