When I say they HAD there yard sprayed, that means they HAD there yard sprayed by a professional.which it killed there beloved dog the next day when the professionals said it would be ok to let her out. they had the dog looked at by a vet it was the pesticide that killed her.I quess they could have sued but my parents dont do that.If it will kill a dog the next day. then it is ok for us to be around it. and drink it.when it leaches into the water supplys. and breath it in? They do it because those insects insist on living in nature, and they think that is unnatural.

Your professional was not what he said he was, otherwise he would have known full well and given explicit instructions. Pesticides are poison to kill either weeds or bugs. Obviously he was using bug killer. That is much more deadly than weed killer. However, why don't they stop using them? The US would no longer be the "breadbasket nation" of the world, for it is by pesticides that huge crops can be grown and harvested. You would have smaller crops, as weeds. disease and bugs will take their share. Which at times can wipe out an entire crop.
Your parents would have grounds against the spray company professional for not warning you correctly.
Poisonous to human health? So is driving your car. Are you willing to stop driving because it emits poisonous gases.?
Thought not.

Sounds like their dog should not have been in the back yard.I am going for my pesticide applicators license and I have worked in the turf/landscape business for over 20 years. If applied correctly pesticides are not hazardous. You need to read the directions and take all precautions.I have been using some pesticides in my yard for years and I have never had a problem.I am VERY sorry about your parents dog but it was not the pesticide itself that killed it,it was the lack of proper procedure!!!

Because they have pests in their yard they do not want. Pesticides are not cheap and as your parents learned have a degree of risk associated with them. The need to be applied correctly; respected and used properly.

I live in the country and use pesticides as needed. If I did not, I would be overrun by some species. Or they would damage my crops so severely that it would cost me serious money.

Additionally, I have had horses, sheep, lambs, goats, chickens, ducks, dogs, cats, and several other types of livestock and never had a problem with any of them. However, as I said earlier, precautions must be used and package labels adhered to or tragedy can occur.

Pesticides are every bit as much of a tool as a shovel, rake or hammer are. It is how you use it that makes the difference.

My apologies to your parents for their misfortune.

Please....i know you are hurt and angry, but don't blame pesticides on everything wrong. i am a farm girl and now an old granny....grew up with DDT over the house and farm...at least we get better and better restrictions. Not one of the old farmers around here who still use pesticides every year with their crops of grain and cotton have had cancer. There are lots of horrible things in the air from a lot of sources. I have an acre of flowers growing right now.......you would be horrified to know what i put on them........

I got fleas really bad one year so I had to spay my yard because my little girl had a bad reaction to flea bites. We did everything we could inside the house but the only way we could get rid of them was to treat the yard.
