That is just another term for a PAP smear.
Here's what they do .

You get naked , put on a paper gown , Lie back with your leg's spread apart in holsters
The DR. will take a very long thing that looks like a small white plastic rake and gently scrape your cervix , but before he does that he will take a big long metal , sometimes plastic thing that kinda looks like a curling iron and insert it into your vagina and he will click it into place , which keeps your vagina open ... ( this is sorta uncomfortable ) .
It only takes about 4-5 minutes and your done.

3. Dr comes in ask you some questions, mostly about sex, why you there, any pain in the vagina or breast area.
4. they have you lie down on the table and do a breast exam.
5. dr has u scoot all the way to the edge of the table puts your feet in the stirrups
6. Looks for any redness or anything unusual around the clit and labia(the lips)
7. tells you to relax as the Dr inserts the speculum, don't worry its lubed.
8. takes samples of the lining of your vagina and cervix.
9. removes speculum, inserts fingers and pushes on abdomen to feel for any abnormalities.
10. has you sit up, clean up and get Dressed and that dr will be back in a few to talk about the results.
11. Don't worry the jelly they use will eventually come off.
12. DO NOT HAVE SEX 48 HRS BEFORE THE EXAM IT CAN THROW OFF THE RESULTS OF THE EXAM.

They insert a speculum, either metal or plastic and look visually and then take a scraping of the cervix and a swab to check for anything going on and send the slide and swab off to the lab. Then they remove that and they do a physical exam with their hands and fingers, checking for the size and shape and for any abnormal growths inside you, they push on your tummy at the same time. Then they usually do a breast exam by pushing in circles around your bnreast and ask you to do this monthly to yourself. That is pretty much it. Of course they talk to you and discuss any problems or needs you might have. It sounds worse than it is, once you're done you're good for a yr. lol Don't worry they do so many yours id just one more.lol

I just had my first one a few weeks ago. Most people say it doesn't hurt or anything, but for me it was really painful. I think it depends on whether or not you are a virgin. They will ask you to undress from your waist down, and you will put your feet on these two pole like things, and the doctor will stick an object up your vagina (not sure what its called), and it feels kind of cold. The exam only lasts for a few minutes, so don't worry. Your doctor will also explain what they are going to do if it is your first time.

if your talking about like your annual pap smear, its very simple, you go in, and they take a urine sample and a blood sample to test your PH and levels. then you will lay down, and they will stick a small scope up there and swap to test for bad cells. The dr will stick a finger up there to feel around for lumps or cysts to make sure it feels normal, they will gently press on your abdomen while they are doing this to get a good feel to make sure everything is ok. it doesnt hurt, some times it feels a little uncomfortable, then they will check your breats and show you how to check yourself for tumors. its pretty quick. 5-10 minutes
