i think it should help but he is extremely overpaid, he is making approximetly 1 million dollars a WEEK, i repeat a WEEK. I dont think that one player generate so much profit to make it worth to have him on your team

His move is strategic for the family and himself... living in California, near Hollywood, the cradle of worldwide movie stars, models, rockstars, etc... this means a lot more potential for new advertising contracts.
About the sports issue, well he is very professional and will show his abilities to the public, will teach soccer tricks to his teammates. Football fans can now see an actual super european star. Unfortunately, the quality of US football depends in great quantities on foreigners.
Seen from outside (where the real deal happens in football: Europe, Sothamerica) the "future old to be" players "sell" their souls to the mega-mediatic-empire, sacrificing quality for money.

It may benefit the MLS and draw more attention to Soccer in the U.S. which will in turn pressure American players to train harder in order to maintain a presence on the international level during the next world cup. That would be the plus side, but will it actually go that far? I couldn't say, Beckham was a phenominal player but he's not what he used to be.

It won't help push soccer in the US one bit. To many people here don't have a clue as to who he is or what he does if he was not in a soccer uniform. He could be Pele and no one would still know.
If he thinks the crowds were demaning over there, wait until he has a cold streak over here. He better live up to his name and the hype.

It's a hooray for Soccer! People are talking about it and hence more interest and pressure will be on Beckham's performance now. So is he worth the money or isn't he? We shall wait and see. I'm looking forward to it.

It shows that all he cares about now is money and his lifestyle. If he was a proper competitve player he would chose a much better league like the premiership than The MLS
