I am doing a report in my physics class on the physics connections (or lack of) in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. so far I have a few examples, but I would like and could use a lot more. For example, I am using the blacksmith dueling scene from the first movie (When Jack Sparrow falls onto the cart and sends Will Turner flying into the air) as an example of when no basic physics are applied. Thanks for any help and I would love answers as soon as possible!!!! Thanks again!

Here are some

1:In POTC1, the rowboat underwater probably would've been to stong a force for those two to carry
2:Potc 1 Tortuga, a man is drinkin beer on 3 wobbling barrels. He would've fallen
3: Potc 2 If the bells in the church would lift the characters up and down, wouldn't be a challenge for those who actually were in charge of ringing itt?
4: Potc 2 whenthe flying dutchman goes underwater, its sails would've probably broken from it
5: I dont think the attack on Port royale and the bomb explosions would cause the villagers to fly diretly upwards, but instead to the side
hope it helps

As a Pirates fan, I remember a few things. There's the part when Jack is flying through the air around a pole or something, I don't think he technically had enough momentum for that sort of thing. Does the part when he slides down the rope with his shackles count? cuz I don't believe he could have held his weight grabbing the chains. Does this include both movies? If so, then the whole water wheel scene is not believable in the second movie. I think the wheel would have fallen over throughthe woods at some point. Maybe that doesn't count.

I hope some of this helps.

ok so in the first one, there's the part when capt. jack first escapes from norrington and he's holding onto a rope and flying through the air. i don't think he would have had enough momentum to fly around that quickly.
ummm thats the only one i can think of right now! if i think of any more i'll edit this answer!! ;)

The water wheel. Actors and stunt people had to be strapped in.
