imdb says he died of an enlarged heart. I know he was obese and had a history of drug abuse, so that probably contributed.

i was with him a few days before he died and he was really tired. the press tried to say it was caused by alcohol and drugs but i know he wasn't doing any just before he passed away. it was simply a heart attack caused by stress. he was really trying to cut down on eating (yes-those rumors were true) and on working out more. he was in good spirits and happy but stressed on work and relationships. just remember he was a good man and a great friend who died too young and don't promote those bad rumors about him. thanks...i hope i cleared it up for you.

Not quite sure, however, anytime anyone that young dies it's usually cocaine or drug related.
