If yes, where? Did you enjoy yourself? What kinds of things did you do? How old were you? Were you scared to go? Or whatever you feel like sharing. I need a vacation badly and don't really want to go with anyone, but I'm so scared to do it alone....

All the time! First time I did it I was 22 and I went to Hot Springs, Arkansas, and did the spa thing. I spent 4 glorious days being TOTALLY pampered, massages, hot tub therapy, the works. No one to bother me when I went back to the hotel, no one to whine that they didn't want to go eat where I did, no one saying "That's lame" to things I wanted to see or do. It was awesome.

You'll be fine! Just figure out where you want to go and find out ahead of time what all there is to do there, and then go and enjoy yourself. :)

I'm a woman and I have been on vacation about eight times alone, some during my marriage and some since. I enjoyed it every time -- twice within my own state, sometimes to neighboring states, once to Europe where I met cousins and a friend. I read, went to parks and the beach, biked, went to restaurants and museums, did genealogy research, swam, watched TV, went to movies, journalled, took photos, and shopped.

The ages at which I've gone ranged from 37 to 50. I wasn't scared, but then again, I didn't spend much time in big cities. Actually, I love vacations whether with others or probably moreso on my own. The places I went included country areas of NY, VT, CT, and Cape Cod.

Good luck!

Sure have! New Orleans is where I went. I was 21. I had went 4 other times with friends and past girlfriends, but none of those times could even match the one by my self. Sure at first it is weird and can seem to be lonely, but then you loosing up and start to talk to new people. The best thing is there are no attachments unless you want them. When you go with people you know you have someone that knows what you usually do and how you act. When you're by your self you can be whoever you want.

do it go alone you will meet amazing people and see crazy stuff. but it is a great experience. When you go it alone you have no choice but to interact with other people. If you go with friends its good fun too but your whole experience is colored by your friendships and past experiences together.
