We spend roughly $240 a month for food/ household products for my husband and myself in upstate NY. So... roughly $60 per week. Our budget has been tight sometimes, but we have learned to get a lot of food for the money!
Money-saving tip: Make your grocery list and then shop at the cheapest place first (farm market). If there are still items on your list, go to the next cheapest place (Aldi). If you still don't have everything you need, get the remainder at SuperWalmart.

Around $350 - $400 per month, including toiletries, cleaners, paper products, etc. Family of 5, 2 adults/3 kids 4, 6, 11. I am in South/Eastern US, in a small city of less than 35,000. My biggest money saving tip? Buy store brands. There are only a handful of foods and other products that I buy in the name brand. I would say that at least 85% of what I buy is store brand.

$700-$800 for family of four with a small baby on formula and little bit of baby food. We budget for big shopping trip every other week and small trip in the off weeks for bread/milk etc.
Sorry...now I read the rest of the question. This total includes most, but not all non-food supplies. We budget "pocket money" weekly that is used to catch a variety of things not covered in the other budget areas. We live in central Kentucky. I think the thing that helps us the most is that we spend CASH from our FOOD envelope. Spending cash keeps you from over spending. When the green stuff is gone...no Fruit Loops! When we used the check book or debit card....we just said...oh well we've gone over a bit and went ahead with the purchase. When we first started we made out a two week meal plan for supper and tried to make sure we bought all of those ingredients, along with other staple items we ate all of the time for breakfast or lunch. Having a chest freezer comes in handy to take advantage of meat sales!!! Buy store brands...and shop WITHOUT the kids if you can! Check out www.daveramsey.com for a wealth of information on budgeting and getting out of debt!!!

For a Family of four adults its usually 1000 dollars a month... We do not eat out and I cook and plan the meals weekly. We shop at Super Wal-Mart and their prices are unmatched! This is for all food and non-food products. Breakfast lunch and dinner! =o)
Im 22 and Ive been cooking for my parents since I was 12... Weve saved bundles not eating out. Dayton,Ohio

About $300-$400 per month (we dine out/take out about twice per week)
Includes both food and non food supplies.
Three adults (including myself)
Yardley, Pennsylvania
I buy bulk at BJ's and buy veggies at our local Asian Store, meat at Superfresh and McCaffrey's.
I try not to buy prepackage food but it's always inevitable. We eat alot of rice... so that takes up a good portion of our meal. I try to cook about a pound and a half of meat per meal for all three of us. (ie: If it's beef, then I add stir fried veggies.)

i spend about $400 per month on food only. I have a teenage son who is a bottomless pit and a teenage daughter who only eats low fat low card so i basically make 2 separate dinners each night. my best tip buy no prepackaged and buy meat in bulk and separate in smaller one dish portions. there is me and my 2 children who are 16 and 17; and we live in a small small town in oklahoma.
