Should he and will he are two different questions. He should without a doubt, but for some reason we are all in awe with the Kennedy family. He is a drunken baffoon and a joke to the Senate. I do not know how many times he has been caught sleeping by TV cameras there.

because Ted Kennedy is a Kennedy and this surpassed off in an section and time the position Kennedys were somewhat powerful. It changed into also, um, July 18, 1969. 2 days earlier the first Moon landing. truthfully you would possibly want to arise with better cutting-edge examples of inequity?

The laws weren't nearly as strict back then especially for a Kennedy in the 60's (this event happened 2 days after my birth).

Back then a DUI fatality was a low level (3rd degree) manslaughter at best, unless you were black.

Sad for the family that he got off.

Let's not forget boys and girls that you CANNOT be charged twice for the same crime, it's either called double indemnity or double jeopardy I can't remember.

He got off period.

Considering the level of alcohol he had consumed... considering that he didn't report the crime for several hours... yeah, for those two reasons alone, he should have done some time in jail.
But look at this a different way. Looking back the past 40 or so years, and all the trouble they have had, would you want to be part of that family?

First of all, Laura Bush did NOT abandon someone to die. HUGE difference!

As to the comments about how long ago it was, well, true, but there isn't a statue of limitations on murder. Based on the eyewitness accounts, he was ****-faced drunk and just left that poor girl to drown. What a winner.

Yes. He committed vehicular homicide. If his name wasn't Kennedy, we would have served tim in jail instead of the Senate.

Though the loss of life was tragic, chances are he wouldn't have served Jail time.
