"Murder on the Orient Express" is very good. I was in the 8th grade when I read it and I still like it.

And Then There Were None, by Agatha Christie. Trust me, it's great. Agatha is brilliant in writing this perfect murder. It's really hard to put this book down, there is so much suspense, and it's not disgustingly vulgar, just a genius crime.

I don't know about the absolute best, but many people like Agatha Christie's twists, like in "Murder on the Orient Express," "And Then There Were None," and "The Murder of Roger Ackroyd."

My favorite, however, is "Sparkling Cyanide" a.k.a. "Remembered Death."

Well, I'm younger than most of you Yahoo! Answers users, so I'd have to say Ellen Raskin's "Westing Game". Very shocking and very puzzling. I loved it.

Depends on which kind you like. The intellectual who done it, the racing, fighting, action packed, or the macabre and suspenseful.
