I saw it once on Yahoo feature and it's answered in Yahoo Answers, but I forgot. What is that term when a TV show declines in rating or from a top rate to losing it's taste based from viewers.

Jumping The Shark. It comes from an episode of Happy Days where Fonzie jumps over a shark on water skis. After that episode Happy Days went downhill in quality and ratings

jumping the shark. so named for the episode of happy days when fonzie water skies over a shark in a contest. essentially, when the show ended.
