Leave it alone. He'll eat when he's hungry. He's just trying to get attention, so don't fall for it. All bricks go through an obnoxious phase like that.

Try some soft sand for a few days then add a little water, might take a while but should be back in the wall soon enough

reckon you should go to the brick yard Dr and have the little guy looked at, it may be a slight nervous problem due to all the new build housing activity arriving in your neighbourhood, it sees many of its good solid mortar mates now being fixed up for life.
probably just a little problem that will go away soon, maybe you should start it slow and involve it in a little BBQ, good way to smoke and meet new mates.

You could try it on a little bit of mortar, or if it is vegetarian, a small bit of moss. If it doesnt eat it straght away, take the food up and give it some more eight hours later. As long as its absorbing water, you don't need to worry too much.

Best to try it on any mudstone or siltstone initially. If necessary this could by given in water, your brick should find it easier to absorb the nutrients that way.

I feed mine with dead woodlice. Sometimes you will notice a wild brick with a few dead woodlice ready to eat near by.
