both of them are right it just depends on how much scent you want on you and another way to put it on for the least scent is you spray it than walk through the spray

The traditional way is to put in on your skin. The reason is, you have a chemical reaction between the natural oils on your skin, and the perfume.
The wrist has minimal oils compared to the rest of the body (the ankle has even less, but that's not the point) so putting perfume there lasts longer.
Behind the ears is a good spot too. It's near your face, so you can smell it (I happen to like to smell my perfume). If you're close with a special someone, that would be the place to put it.
As far as putting it on clothes, I don't think that's a problem. I used to put mine on the front of my shirt, just b/c it was easier. But now I spray mine on my neck/chest.
And just a note... body spray is totally different. (Even though I'm sure you knew that).

You can put it on your clothes, but it is best to put it on your "pulse points" because that is where your body will give off the smell the most. It is important to not rub your wrists back and forth, because these will mix the "notes" that the perfume is made up of and the smell won't be the same. Hope this helps! :)

If it's not a very strong perfume, I spray it on my wrists and maybe touch my wrists to my chest or neck. If it's a really strong perfume, I spray it into the air and walk through it, either before or after I am dressed.

Putting it on clothes can stain.
Spray the perfume on your pulse points aka your wrists, knees, neck and elbows. Don't rub the perfume or it'll ruin the scent.

Spray the air in front of you and quickly walk into it. For non-sprays a little behind ear and on wrists.

you should be putting perfume on pulse points, like wrists, below your ears (on the neck), etc. that way, your pulse makes the perfume rise and spread all over your body.
there is no right or wrong way though.

I put it on my wrists and dab them (my wrists) together. Rubbing them together causes the scent to wear off faster.
I would think putting perfume on your clothes could stain or slightly discolor them over time, so I wouldn't advise doing that.

Use a Atomizer.....this saves you the most.......it uses the perfume efficiently and doesn't have that WOAH knock out quality to it.......spray it on your body before dressing for the most scent for the perfume mixes with your heat and scent
