My exams start tomorrow, and I am wondering if anyone has some studying tips for me. What foods should I eat to aid memory? Is it helpful to exercise before studying? What can I do/eat right before the exam to give me energy and focus?
Thanks!

If your exams start tomorrow, I do hope you started studying for them a few weeks ago.
Knowledge is retained best when it is doled out in multiple exposures. Study for an hour or two, take a break, then read over what you studies before.
Exercise is helpful because it gets up your blood pressure and your epinephrine levels and makes you alert, but if you work out in lieu of studying it will not help.
DON'T stay up all night- you won't do as well. Study well- no distractions, no internet surfing, and then go to bed early. Try getting up very early to study and review some more- you will be more refreshed after a rest.
Eat protein- a bowl of oatmeal or an egg and toast will help. Caffeine will help you concentrate but if you drink too much you won't sleep/rest as well, and you may have to use the restroom during the exam! (very uncomfortable!:()
Here's what I did:
Studied every day; two hour maximum per subject, then I would walk briskly around the building OR have a snack (Fruit bar).
Listened only to instrumental music- no words to interfere with my thought process. I wore headphones so no one would talk to me and interrupt my work.
Ate a good dinner and a protein breakfast in the morning of the exam.
Went to bed at 10 pm and got up at 3:30 (YUP!) and studied some more until about 7, then I drove to school and studied some more before the exam.
Twenty minutes before the exam, we asked questions out loud and tried to answer them- weirdly, every time we did this, the things we asked each other always ended up being questions!
Ten minutes before the exam, we moved to a small room and said a group prayer, took some deep breaths, and used the rest room, grabbed out water bottles and entered.
After the exam, we went over out notes and circled the info that we had as questions. That way we knew if we had done well or not. One professor always re-used his questions as questions in the final- but most will not.
Then we relaxed, and sometimes went out at the end of finals.
Now- shut off the computer and hit those books- and GOOD LUCK!!!

Actually I'd say just find a quiet place to study. I don't know of any foods that aid memory, except for the herb ginseng, which takes effect gradually. Just try studying a little bit at a time; cramming tends to make people forget. Also, take plenty of breaks, so your brain doesn't overheat. Basically just get a good night's rest, and make sure to eat breakfast tomorrow. And last but not least, try not to get too nervous, because that can affect performance on a test too. Just do your best.
Good luck on your exams!

For studying, music is okay as long as it doesn't have words. (This works for some people, but sometimes it doesn't.) Stay away from the TV, computer, or any other distraction. Also, if you need to remember something you might want to put it into a rhyme, or associating an image with it. Cheesey, yes, but it almost always works.
Make sure you drink plenty of water, and exercise is good because it increases bloodflow to the brain. Also, mints are good for clearing your sinuses so you can breathe better, which helps you get more oxygen to your brain. Make sure you're also eating carbohydrates!

I highly reccommend chewing mint gum or bringing a box of mints with you to your exam. It's always helped me. =)

What helps me best with my studies is to make small goals (like a few pages), do them with full concentration and NO distraction. then i take a 5-10 minute break after every few pages. eating certain foods dont relly help with ur memory in such a short time span and neither does exercise..actually exercise tires your brain and body so dont over exert yoursels. n remember to sleep for ATLEAST 8 hours before ur exam to keep urself focused throughout the exam. and dont cram right before the exam ever..instead i normally like to take a walk or lisen to one of my favourite songs because i helps me calm myself and stop turning into a nervous wreck! and even if u think ull forget everything by not looking at ur book for a second, it isnt true..actually the more u cram, the less information u retain. dats all..hope this helps! good luck with ur exam!! =)
