The area where I plug in my USB drive isnt working, it may be a result of overuse, any idea on how to fix it without having to send my laptop back to Dell?

Open the chassis to see if you can tighten it up from inside. Your laptop should have more than one usb ports, use another port.

DONT OPEN IT UP. the way dell works and makes all there profit off those warentys is #1 people wont send them back or #2 people open them up there selves and there warenty is Null and Void. send it back to dell. they will eather 1 replace the part or 2 replace the computer if it cant be fixed

easiest thing to do is to buy a small (for laptop) usb hub, and plug it into a working port, then some velcro to hold it in place...

Well the only way I can think of doing it would be to open it up or you "might" be able to grab a thin flat object and pull it out (but I HIGHLY recommend not doing it)
