I recently had a cable tech come to my home due to distorted images on my tv..i was then informed that my cable was being hacked into and was disconnected by the tech. Since then the neighbors have reconnected the cable several times, I have reported it 4xs at this pt. What happens, i mean i dont see any results truly. The cable company doesnt give any solid answers other than its been reported. Any ideas anyone?!

Its not about "snitching" its about whats fair. I have to pay for a service, why should a neighbor free-load off of me. I would have never known that they were using my cable until the tech came out to check my connection. As for approaching the neighbor *yes the company told me who it was*, they are fully aware that i know what they have done. I just thought more would be done since cable companies are always talking about cable theft ect..more than disconnection of the cable and a notice on the door saying it has been disconnected.

In some jurisdictions felony charges can be brought to the really brazen cable signal hackers. If the quality of your signal is negatively affected, then the cable company should reimburse you and then BILL and SUE the hackers for your lost services and to repair damage to the system. If the hackers total damage is over a certain amount (depending on jurisdiction) then the cable company can have the hackers arrested on felony charges.

Did the cable company techs determine which neighbors were hacking?

In the meantime, look into getting DishTV or DirectTV satellite service. The dish is attached to a south wall of your house and goes directly into your house.

Have you talked to your neighbors? Go tell them what you think, or just get satellite
