If you are debating against animal testing, the very best place to start, with the most well supported arguments against the practce is P.E.T.A (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals)
Their pages on experimentation begin here:

And on alternatives

Johns Hopkins has gone so far as to establish a Center dedicated to finding alternative research methods

It really is a myth that animal testing in this day and age has any valid benefit to mankind. But promoting that "benefit" premise
and perpetuating the myth is still a great way of getting funding.

Good luck on your debate! This topic has been debated for ages and the sad truth about animal testing is that the animals don't really have much of a say in it. Everything right down to the food you eat, the medicine you use, your shampoo, toothpaste, laundry detergent and soap are made and developed by companies, many of which test their products on our furry friends.

Animal testing should not be abolished because it is good for the mankind. There should only be proper treatment and limitation of animals that are used for testing.

I think that if there is another way--and there seems to be for things like cosmetics and so forth--then they shouldn't test on animals. Medical testing often needs to be tested on animals, but not always.

If it's not safe for us, it's not safe for them.
Besides, if the inventor is soconfident, they themselves should test it.
It's for humans, not for animals, so why test it on them?
