i have to create a periodic table that is based on ANY topic(all appropriate). items in the verticle columns must be similar in some manner and have some gradual change as you move down the family. there should be a pattern, or trend, in the change of charcteristics as you move across a row/period. so the entire project is basically an organized chart that consists of specific patterns or trends, based on a particular subject.

You should tell your teacher that's the stupidest project ever. Why are you wasting your time making up stuff when you could actually be learning the periodic table?

lots of these have been done. i have the periodic table of mixology which groups drinks by alcohol and glassware used. i've seen a periodic table of desserts, candy, bread, beer, fruits and nuts, and sex. you just have to be a bit creative and have a broad enough category to start that you can subdivide it.
