Need help with this science question?

Do you guys know how to make a can that when you roll it forward, it'll by itself roll back to you? Please help me.

You'll need a can w. a lid (Like a coffee can. It's optimal to have two lids.), a long, strong rubber band or similiar piece of elastic, a weight (like a plumb bob), a couple of short dowels (maybe 2" in length, cutting up a pencil will do). Attach the rubber band to one dowel, string it through a hole in the center of the bottom of the can (or one of the lids if you have two. Attach the weight to the middle of the rubber band. Now string the rubber band through the other lid and attach to the other dowel. It is important that this rubber band is tight enough to keep the weight from touching the side of the can. Shorten it if you have to.

Now when you roll the can, the weight hanging down inside should twist the rubber band. When the resistance is great enough, the can will stop and the potential energy stored in the rubber band will force it to roll back towards you.

Well, if you push down really hard on the side of the can that is closest to you, it will cause the can to spin towards you, but since you pushed it on its side, it will also go away from you. This makes the can slide away, but come back rolling to you.
