I just found out that a really close guy friend of mine is enlisted in the air force he has no idea where he's going to be stationed or doing there even though I'm against the idea how can I be of support?

The best way to support a soldier is to be supportive. Don't treat him any differently that you would anyone else, just leave the politics out of the conversation. Odds are, being Air Force, he will not see the front-lines. Write to him and tell him what is happening at home, with his friends, etc.

Supporting the troops is not slapping a yellow ribbon on your car. Supporting the troops is writing representatives when they vote to cut pay and benifits. Supporting the troops is donating to military and veterans charities, sending letters and care packages to the troops, and praying for their safe and rapid return.

He's going into the Air Force - he won't know until at least the end of basic where he is going for further training.
It is out of your hands and your " I'm against the idea how can I be of support" isn't helping.

You want to be supportive - understand the Air Force is what he wants. He didn't ask your permission - so either handle it like any friend going on to a new career or away to school and treat him as you would them or lose your friend.

You stated, "i ought to work out no longer helping the war, that's comprehensible, yet why might you no longer help the folk struggling with and dropping their lives over there?" i think of the concern is that the folk that don't help the troops can no longer see the bigger image and are unable to cut up the ladies and adult males human beings struggling with the war from the regulations that added the war. i think of, in case you ought to get the folk with the signs and indicators asserting "do no longer help the troops" to think of with regard to the folk and not the coverage, you will discover that greater human beings help the troops than do no longer.

Tell him that because he's your friend you support his decision. You might slip in that you wish he'd spoken to you first.

HE doesn't know where he'll be going - although he should have an idea of what he'll be doing. Hopefully, basic training and training in his chosen field will take a LONG time.

Start here (Link below)

Don't give him speeches based on political reasoning, let him know you are concerned for his safety and that you worry till he returns safely. He's going Air Force, he'll likely not be exposed to any front line fighting, so try not to worry. It's good to have friends. :)

Give him my best regards and thank him for his service please.
