You go to college, get a bachelors, then go to law school. Graduate from law school, and then pass the bar exam of the state you want to practice in.
You can major in anything. There's really no "preferred" major. Law schools do know which majors are easy so if you're in an easy major and have the same gpa as someone else in a hard major, they'll get preference if everything else is equal.
Law schools have no required courses. Just get good grades in undergrad and score well on the LSAT.

Get a degree at a four year college, tell your advisor that you are working to become a lawer and they will point you down the best path. Another good major is political science. A lot of college even offer pre-law sort of classes, so make sure to take them if thats your interest. Then once you get finished you take the LSAT, score high and pick your law school of choice.

You get a bachelor's degree, then go to law school, and then take the Bar exam in the state in which you expect to practice law. In California, you also have to pass a background check, get fingerprinted, and take an ethics test.
