Some women seem to like adding fuel to the fire. Those women deserve the reactions they get.

I really don't know what is happening to people today. Everything has gotten so liberal, it's pathetic. Girls are being taught differently today. Guys are too macho. The home values have all but gone. Psychologists are saying to do whatever makes you happy. Compassion has gone down the drain. Very few are sitting down together at mealtime. Everyone is rushing to do nothing. Girls are being taught that their bodies will get them anything. Too much emphasis is being placed on sex, money, drugs, and violence. Unless there is a change made in America, the people will continue to be self-centered. They will only care for what they want and won't care who they hurt to get it. I am not referring to everyone. There are still some decent young people in America. I have seen all kinds, but believe me, things are going to get much worse before it gets better. Hang in there...don't become a jerk, we have too many of them. Be yourself and look for someone that believes and thinks as you do. Good luck and God bless....

No. Some men just are abusive jerks. I think the question is "why do women put up with abusive jerks who don't deserve a good woman?"

No, that is no excuse for men being abusive. Even if a woman is purposefully trying to provoke him, it is still no excuse. Men need to learn to control their aggression. If they can't and they feel they will be a danger to their partner, then they should either get professional help or leave the relationship until they sort themselves out. HTH : )

"In their own little way"...what does THAT qualifying statement mean? That it's okay to smack her because she nags, or doesn't clean up, or doesn't cook? Is THAT "abusive in their own little way?!" Either she's smacking you around, or not. THAT'S abusive, not "pushing your buttons" or "flirting too much" (!) So do you hit your gf/wife when you think she's flirting? And now you want us to tell you it's okay to do that, go ahead and hit her because she left dishes in the sink? You must be kidding.

Nobody can "make" you into or do anything.
If you're an abusive jerk - you won't need much to provoke you. That's an internal anger issue you've got there.
Don't blame anyone for your behavior and take the high road. If you're with an abusive mate - find someone healthy!

Or, perhaps women are humans, and men are humans, and each human interacts with other humans in a manner that sometimes isn't ideal.
All of the behaviors you've listed are those that either gender can be guilty of.
Only a man can cause himself to be a jerk. None of us are in control of anyone but ourselves.

Well then! I don't think it's women that turn men into jerks. We might not at times help the situation, but it's definitely not total our fault! Guys do things that makes us be bit ches..........
You don't hear us bit ching about it.
If men are abusive it's because of the way they were raised and vise verse!

No one should be abusive to anyone. Period. However I have noticed this. Men do get harsher consequences that a woman doing the exact same thing or worse.

Well, it is just like a "man" to try and put the blame on a woman when he is abusive. No woman asks to be abused or tries to be abused. That "man" makes the choice to be abusive.

wow, I never thought of it that way. you're right.
its not someone's fault when they're abusive, its the vicitms.
and its not a thiefs fault s/he steals, if people didn't ahve such nice stuff they wouldn't do it.
and don't get me started on all of those so-called 'rapists and child molesters.....
- get real, if you don't like the person your with (man or woman) you see other people, you don't hurt them. there si no excuse for violence
(for the record, self defense however is not violence)
