I'm interested in installing a game of mine, either age of empires or rise of nations on a computer, but I don't know if I can run it on a computer w/out a cd.

Install or run? Those are two different things.

You can sometimes install games without a CD (if you downloaded them). Other times you have to download them and then burn them to CD in order to install them because the software is written that way.

As far as running goes... A lot of games these days require you to have the CD in the CDROM for security purposes (they want to be sure you own a copy). The good news is if you look on the internet in the right places you can often find "no cd cracks". These are programs that when run eliminate the games need for a CD. Look on websites for the game or look on a p2p music downloading program and search for software instead of music.

Just make sure you have good antivirus installed to be safe.
