We have an auto-pool cleaner, but it just stirs up the bottom. Are there any special chemicals to use to kill the slime?

Clean out all leaves and any thing that might stop up the pump. Drain the pool about half full and put in 3 gallons of Clorox bleach and turn on the pump to keep the water moving. Wait about a week then add another gallon. Keep the pump running then use a shock treatment after a month. Keep shocking it and keep the pump running and refill with clean water. Keep adding the shock treatment until it comes clean.
