I'm a conservitive all the way, except for this issue. I'm NOT a user either.
Marijuana should be legal for a number of reasons, including:
1. Profits will go to responsible businesses and to government in the form of taxes that would relieve the burden on tax-paying cititzens, and deprive the criminal element from profiteering on the #1 cash crop in the US.
2. Pot is not as harmful, dangerous or deadly as alcohol.
3.Alcohol is a drug, it's legal and controlled, why not pot, which isn't as harmful to society?
4. It will indeed take the burden off of law enforcement and the penal system, saving taxpayers money.

It's legal where I live, and while I've never tried it I know quite a few people who smoke pot, I don't really notice anything about them when they smoke a single joint, even if they've smoked a lot it affects them far less than if they've even had a couple of alcoholic drinks (without the pot that is, not in addition to it!). The little effect I have seen is that they get more relaxed, while I've unfortunately seen lots of people on alcohol get aggressive, yet alchohol is legal in the US and pot is not... I've never been able to see the logic in that!
I do think it's somewhat addictive but I'm never sure if that's the pot or the smoking itself, for that we KNOW is terribly additive! I've never personally known anyone nor do I even know of anyone who's gone on to harddrugs after starting with pot so that doesn't seem to be quite as dangerous as it is made out to be either. How could anyone prove anyways that when people go on to harddrugs, was it the pot or was it another problem with selfcontrol/being easily influenced etc, that they already had before ever using the pot?

Decriminalized is "legalized". There really is no such thing as "legalization" in our legal system. The definition of "Legal" is "Anything that is not illegal".
So until it is made illegal it's legal...ie lsd was legal, pot was legal, extacy was legal...UNTIL laws criminalizing those drugs were enacted.
So, yes it should be decriminalized.

Decriminalized most definitely.
If you do the research you'll find the majority of the reasons it was made illegal in the first place had to do with racism and propaganda.

Legalized! It would clear out the prison system and make room for rapists, murders and others who are a danger to our society. If it was legalized it would even create jobs for us-we need more jobs.

Legalized. Government doesn't need to be our mommy and daddy.
It should be here to protect us from each other and from threats from abroad.
