mp3 video player problem..?

i have a Zvue video mp3 player i can upload mp3s to it just fine but i tried to upload some videos any i cant get them to work.. all i see is a bunch of random letters when i hit play i see no video or hear no sound... can anyone help me?

are the video's Mp4's because if not it wont work.
