Mendel formulated the:

Law of Segregation - says that the two alleles for a trait separate and go into different gametes

Law of Independent Assortment - says that the way one pair of alleles separates doesn't affect the way another pair of alleles separates.

He also proposed the Rule of Unit Factors, saying that each trait is governed by two factors, one from each parent, and that the factors stay separate from each other in an individual without blending or changing. .... and the Rule of Dominance, saying that the dominant allele will be expressed (show) in a heterozygous individual while the recessive allele will be hidden.
