Caesar, of course. Think about it. Napoleon and Hitler were defeated--Napoleon was exiled and Hitler killed himself. But Caesar was unstoppable, until the Roman senate murdered him.

Not Hitler, he was not a military genious. Herr "Fuhrer" simply enjoyed having one of the best military systems to develop militarty officers at the time, which allowed the Reich to discover new ways of fighting.

Caesar and Napoleon were very bold and cunning. Nappy was far more the soldier than the politician, since he was educated as a soldier and officer of France. Caesar was a noble of his time, a politician became a soldier to become leader in Rome. In a single battle, Napoleon should win.

But if we talk of a war, consider that Caesar probably faced a stronger enemy in Pompey than any of the opponents Napoleon faced (sorry, not impressed by Wellington or Blucher or Archduke Charles). Caesar probably would find the best way to adapt and get victory in the long term.

Your question is dependent on time, of course. Strategically, with today's weapons, I think it comes down to Napolean or Ceasar. (Hitler wasn't a military strategist). I think I give my vote to Napolean. He wouldn't hesitate to use nuclear weapons. I think Ceasar may have had a conscience about that.

PS This is one of the best, most interesting questions I've seen on here.
